What a client approves before an invoice is raised 1 min read

FSN raises no invoice from an estimate. When a contractor finishes work that is paid by the hour or by the device, they submit the figure. The client reviews it and approves it, and the approved figure is the one that is billed.
That order matters. It means the amount on an invoice has already been agreed by both sides before the invoice exists, so neither party sees a number for the first time on a bill.
The platform fee is applied to the gross amount. The contractor sees the net they will receive, and the client sees the total they will pay. Both figures come from the same agreed gross, so they always reconcile.
Fixed-price work skips the approval of quantities, because there is no quantity to agree. The pay model is fixed when the work is accepted, which is what makes that possible.
